Day 1 – December 29
San Juan, Puerto Rico
You’ll arrive in San Juan today and be transferred to the port to board Explora I to begin your cruise. If you’d like a little extra time in San Juan, we recommend arriving a day or two earlier. Your Poe Travel advisor can help arrange the perfect accommodations and experiences to complement your luxury cruise.
Explore the oldest US city for a dose of Caribbean history, slice of Spanish culture, and twist of the American dream. Roam historic Old San Juan alleyways to glimpse centuries-old forts and colorful colonial buildings. Learn how to move, as locals sashay out the salsa to rhythmic reggae beats. Shop the boho streets or glamorous boutiques for artisan goods, decadent designers, and hand-rolled cigars. Experience world-class surfing, explore a tropical rainforest, attend a private rum cocktail tasting, and polish off empanadas. Then retire to one of the beautiful beaches to soak up crystal clear waters.

Day 2 – December 30
Basseterre, Saint Kitts & Nevis
Formed by volcanoes, St. Kitts’ fertile soil is so rich it turns monkeys green. Trek through miles of rainforest amongst colorful wildlife to conquer the highest peak of Mount Liamuiga so you can peer into the mile-wide crater, or bravely descend to sniff the sulfur. Experience a train ride, sailing trip, cooking class, sky safari zip-line, or creative batik fabric workshops. Visit sugarcane plantations, the Narrows between St. Kitts and Nevis, and the UNESCO Brimstone Hill Fortress for spectacular views of neighboring islands. You’ll find this special island small in size yet tall in standing, as well as big on charm.

Day 3 – December 31
Saint-Pierre, Martinique
On your last day of 2023, embrace Martinique’s natural joie de vivre. Martinique is volcanic in origin, Gallic in heritage, and Creole at heart. Explore old sugar plantations, premium rum distilleries, cocoa farms, and the St. Pierre ruins at the foothills of the still smouldering Mont Pelée. Chase the Saut du Gendarme waterfall, explore the 10-million-year-old Caravelle peninsula, roam the northern beach’s dusky sands, and visit Le Carbet, which was made famous by the artist Gauguin. And as you slow down to contemplate the sweet concoction of the national punch, you’ll understand why the Creole and French blend makes Martinique so magical.

Day 4 – January 1
Marigot, St. Martin
Happy New Year! Shimmy to an island where you can visit two countries in a single morning. Call into a little French capital sprinkled with coral-colored houses, lively markets, boulangeries, and bistros. Wind down where turquoise waters roll gently over soft sandy shores and drop into chic Orient Bay for a dash of pizzazz kissed by gentle trade winds. Shop chocolate and cheeses in Dutch emporiums. Hike the French slopes, Fort Amsterdam, horseback ride, dive deep underwater, or pilot a gyrocopter to observe worthy eco-sites that shelter diverse flora and fauna. St. Martin is très magnifique.

Day 5 – January 2
Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas), US Virgin Islands

Savor a fusion of heritage in sparkly St. Thomas. Roam a flawless capital teeming with local culture, smart boutiques, American hallmarks, streets bearing Danish names, and former hideouts for the notorious pirates of Blackbeard and Bluebeard. Climb up to historic landmarks, catch the cable car for serious views, and savor the Frenchtown quarter famed for its restaurants. Ferry to the scenic conservatory of St. John, float around diamond-sand beaches with limpid blue waters, and venture on forested yomps through rugged hilltops. Dreamy Caribbean warmth soaked in Danish roots and American influence—the USVI is a curious culture clash with plenty of personality.

Days 6 & 7 – January 3 & 4
Days at Sea
Enjoy a couple of days at sea to take advantage of all the onboard amenities and programming available to you. Relax in your room, lounge by the pool, delight in the culinary experiences, or make a relaxing trip to the spa.
Day 8 – January 5
Miami
Arrive in Miami and disembark Explora I. If you’re headed straight home, you’ll be privately transferred to the airport. If you’d like a little extra time to enjoy the sexy, spicy glamor of Miami, your Poe Travel advisor will make sure you are transferred to the perfect accommodations to suit your personal style.
